In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/rds: reset op_nents when zerocopy page pin fails
When iov_iter_get_pages2() fails in rds_message_zcopy_from_user(),
the pinned pages are released with put_page(), and
rm->data.op_mmp_znotifier is cleared. But we fail to properly
clear rm->data.op_nents.
Later when rds_message_purge() is called from rds_sendmsg() the
cleanup loop iterates over the incorrectly non zero number of
op_nents and frees them again.
Fix this by properly resetting op_nents when it should be in
rds_message_zcopy_from_user().

crypto: pcrypt - Fix handling of MAY_BACKLOG requests
MAY_BACKLOG requests can return EBUSY. Handle them by checking
for that value and filtering out EINPROGRESS notifications.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: qrtr: ns: Limit the maximum server registration per node
Current code does no bound checking on the number of servers added per
node. A malicious client can flood NEW_SERVER messages and exhaust memory.
Fix this issue by limiting the maximum number of server registrations to
256 per node. If the NEW_SERVER message is received for an old port, then
don't restrict it as it will get replaced. While at it, also rate limit
the error messages in the failure path of qrtr_ns_worker().
Note that the limit of 256 is chosen based on the current platform
requirements. If requirement changes in the future, this limit can be
increased.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
lib/crypto: mpi: Fix integer underflow in mpi_read_raw_from_sgl()
Yiming reports an integer underflow in mpi_read_raw_from_sgl() when
subtracting "lzeros" from the unsigned "nbytes".
For this to happen, the scatterlist "sgl" needs to occupy more bytes
than the "nbytes" parameter and the first "nbytes + 1" bytes of the
scatterlist must be zero. Under these conditions, the while loop
iterating over the scatterlist will count more zeroes than "nbytes",
subtract the number of zeroes from "nbytes" and cause the underflow.
When commit 2d4d1eea540b ("lib/mpi: Add mpi sgl helpers") originally
introduced the bug, it couldn't be triggered because all callers of
mpi_read_raw_from_sgl() passed a scatterlist whose length was equal to
"nbytes".
However since commit 63ba4d67594a ("KEYS: asymmetric: Use new crypto
interface without scatterlists"), the underflow can now actually be
triggered. When invoking a KEYCTL_PKEY_ENCRYPT system call with a
larger "out_len" than "in_len" and filling the "in" buffer with zeroes,
crypto_akcipher_sync_prep() will create an all-zero scatterlist used for
both the "src" and "dst" member of struct akcipher_request and thereby
fulfil the conditions to trigger the bug:
sys_keyctl()
keyctl_pkey_e_d_s()
asymmetric_key_eds_op()
software_key_eds_op()
crypto_akcipher_sync_encrypt()
crypto_akcipher_sync_prep()
crypto_akcipher_encrypt()
rsa_enc()
mpi_read_raw_from_sgl()
To the user this will be visible as a DoS as the kernel spins forever,
causing soft lockup splats as a side effect.
Fix it.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: validate inherited ACE SID length
smb_inherit_dacl() walks the parent directory DACL loaded from the
security descriptor xattr. It verifies that each ACE contains the fixed
SID header before using it, but does not verify that the variable-length
SID described by sid.num_subauth is fully contained in the ACE.
A malformed inheritable ACE can advertise more subauthorities than are
present in the ACE. compare_sids() may then read past the ACE.
smb_set_ace() also clamps the copied destination SID, but used the
unchecked source SID count to compute the inherited ACE size. That could
advance the temporary inherited ACE buffer pointer and nt_size accounting
past the allocated buffer.
Fix this by validating the parent ACE SID count and SID length before
using the SID during inheritance. Compute the inherited ACE size from the
copied SID so the size matches the bounded destination SID. Reject the
inherited DACL if size accumulation would overflow smb_acl.size or the
security descriptor allocation size.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: SVM: Set/clear CR8 write interception when AVIC is (de)activated
Explicitly set/clear CR8 write interception when AVIC is (de)activated to
fix a bug where KVM leaves the interception enabled after AVIC is
activated. E.g. if KVM emulates INIT=>WFS while AVIC is deactivated, CR8
will remain intercepted in perpetuity.
On its own, the dangling CR8 intercept is "just" a performance issue, but
combined with the TPR sync bug fixed by commit d02e48830e3f ("KVM: SVM:
Sync TPR from LAPIC into VMCB::V_TPR even if AVIC is active"), the danging
intercept is fatal to Windows guests as the TPR seen by hardware gets
wildly out of sync with reality.
Note, VMX isn't affected by the bug as TPR_THRESHOLD is explicitly ignored
when Virtual Interrupt Delivery is enabled, i.e. when APICv is active in
KVM's world. I.e. there's no need to trigger update_cr8_intercept(), this
is firmly an SVM implementation flaw/detail.
WARN if KVM gets a CR8 write #VMEXIT while AVIC is active, as KVM should
never enter the guest with AVIC enabled and CR8 writes intercepted.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
rxrpc: Also unshare DATA/RESPONSE packets when paged frags are present
The DATA-packet handler in rxrpc_input_call_event() and the RESPONSE
handler in rxrpc_verify_response() copy the skb to a linear one before
calling into the security ops only when skb_cloned() is true. An skb
that is not cloned but still carries externally-owned paged fragments
(e.g. SKBFL_SHARED_FRAG set by splice() into a UDP socket via
__ip_append_data, or a chained skb_has_frag_list()) falls through to
the in-place decryption path, which binds the frag pages directly into
the AEAD/skcipher SGL via skb_to_sgvec().
Extend the gate to also unshare when skb_has_frag_list() or
skb_has_shared_frag() is true. This catches the splice-loopback vector
and other externally-shared frag sources while preserving the
zero-copy fast path for skbs whose frags are kernel-private (e.g. NIC
page_pool RX, GRO). The OOM/trace handling already in place is reused.

When a non-Ethernet device (e.g. GRE tunnel) is enslaved to a bond,
bond_setup_by_slave() directly copies the slave's header_ops to the
bond device:
bond_dev->header_ops = slave_dev->header_ops;
This causes a type confusion when dev_hard_header() is later called
on the bond device. Functions like ipgre_header(), ip6gre_header(),all use
netdev_priv(dev) to access their device-specific private data. When
called with the bond device, netdev_priv() returns the bond's private
data (struct bonding) instead of the expected type (e.g. struct
ip_tunnel), leading to garbage values being read and kernel crashes.
Fix this by introducing bond_header_ops with wrapper functions that
delegate to the active slave's header_ops using the slave's own
device. This ensures netdev_priv() in the slave's header functions
always receives the correct device.
The fix is placed in the bonding driver rather than individual device
drivers, as the root cause is bond blindly inheriting header_ops from
the slave without considering that these callbacks expect a specific
netdev_priv() layout.
The type confusion can be observed by adding a printk in
ipgre_header() and running the following commands:
ip link add dummy0 type dummy
ip addr add 10.0.0.1/24 dev dummy0
ip link set dummy0 up
ip link add gre1 type gre local 10.0.0.1
ip link add bond1 type bond mode active-backup
ip link set gre1 master bond1
ip link set gre1 up
ip link set bond1 up
ip addr add fe80::1/64 dev bond1
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: pcm: fix use-after-free on linked stream runtime in snd_pcm_drain()
In the drain loop, the local variable 'runtime' is reassigned to a
linked stream's runtime (runtime = s->runtime at line 2157). After
releasing the stream lock at line 2169, the code accesses
runtime->no_period_wakeup, runtime->rate, and runtime->buffer_size
(lines 2170-2178) — all referencing the linked stream's runtime without
any lock or refcount protecting its lifetime.
A concurrent close() on the linked stream's fd triggers
snd_pcm_release_substream() → snd_pcm_drop() → pcm_release_private()
→ snd_pcm_unlink() → snd_pcm_detach_substream() → kfree(runtime).
No synchronization prevents kfree(runtime) from completing while the
drain path dereferences the stale pointer.
Fix by caching the needed runtime fields (no_period_wakeup, rate,
buffer_size) into local variables while still holding the stream lock,
and using the cached values after the lock is released.
